Why You (Really Me) Should Not Lift Heavy In The Gym

I have been lifting for a while. During that time, I've realized that atleast for me, the biggest frustration has been dealing with injuries.

I've only had 2. But there's one thing common in both of them: I suffered both those injuries while i was trying to lift heavy.

The first was a lower back sprain that I suffered doing a heavy deadlift. The other was a left shoulder injury that I got when I was trying to do a heavy incline bench press.

For the next year or so, I've decided I will only lift weights that I are challenging for me in the 12-15 rep range at a slow rep speed with a controlled eccentric.
